"Tsundoku"
I keep finding myself buying books I swear I'm going to read, only to let them gather dust on my nightstand. It turns out there's a word for this exact guilt - inducing habit: Tsundoku (積ん読).
It's a Japanese term for acquiring reading materials and letting them pile up in your home without actually reading them.
There's something oddly comforting about knowing this is such a universal human experience that an entire word was coined for it.
I can just say I'm practicing Tsundoku.
