Technology I love, gadgets I use, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I'm being productive when I'm really just procrastinating. Here's a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Computing

  • MacBook Pro 16-inch, M3 Pro, 36GB RAM

This is my daily driver for everything - coding, video editing, running multiple Docker containers, and pretending I'm productive while having 50 browser tabs open. The 36GB RAM means I never have to close anything, which is both a blessing and a curse.

  • Mac Mini M2

I use this as my home server and testing machine. It's always on, running builds in the background, hosting local services, and occasionally reminding me that I should probably organize my development workflow better.

Peripherals

  • Apple Magic Trackpad

I can't live without the gestures anymore. Three-finger swipe to switch spaces, pinch to zoom, and the satisfying click - it's become muscle memory. I feel lost when I have to use a regular mouse.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard

Simple, clean, and it just works. I've tried mechanical keyboards, but I always come back to this. The low profile means less wrist strain during those late-night coding marathons.

  • Apple Magic Mouse

I switch between this and the trackpad depending on my mood. The smooth scrolling is great for browsing and reading documentation, though I'll admit it's not the most ergonomic thing I own.

  • Elgato Stream Deck +

This thing is absolutely overkill and I love it. I've programmed it with shortcuts for everything - launching apps, controlling lights, switching scenes, muting my mic. It makes me feel like I'm piloting a spaceship when I'm really just opening VS Code.

Audio

  • FIFINE XLR/USB Gaming Microphone Kit

I use this for all my calls and recordings. The sound quality is way better than any headset mic, and yes, the RGB lighting is completely unnecessary but it makes my desk look cool. The boom arm means I can push it out of the way when I'm not using it.

  • Sony WH-1000XM4

These are my go-to when I need to completely zone out and focus. The noise cancellation is so good I sometimes forget I'm wearing them. I've had them for a while now and the battery still lasts forever.

  • Apple AirPods Pro

I grab these when I'm moving around or on calls. They just work with all my Apple devices without any fuss. Transparency mode is great for when I need to hear what's going on around me without taking them off.

Display & Furniture

  • Dell P2425H 24-inch Monitor

A solid external display that I use alongside my MacBook. The 100Hz refresh rate makes everything feel smoother, and I appreciate the adjustable stand - I've got it set up in portrait mode for reading long documents and code.

  • Green Soul Monster Ultimate Series T Chair

After years of back pain from cheap chairs, I finally invested in this. The lumbar support actually works, and I can recline all the way back when I need to think through a problem (or take a quick nap). Worth every penny.

Gaming

  • Steam Deck OLED 512GB

This thing is dangerous for my gaming. I can play my entire Steam library in bed, on the couch, or during travel. The OLED screen is gorgeous, and I've probably spent more time tweaking settings and installing mods than actually playing games.

  • Xbox Controller

My preferred controller for PC gaming. It's comfortable, the battery lasts forever, and it just works with everything. I've gone through a few of these over the years - they're built to last.

  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

The only way to play Switch games properly. The Joy-Cons are fine for portable play, but this controller is so much more comfortable for longer sessions. The battery life is insane - I charge it maybe once a month.

Mobile

  • Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 512GB

My daily phone with way more storage than I'll probably ever need. The camera is great for quick shots, and it handles everything I throw at it. I appreciate not having to worry about running out of space.
